Brazos Valley Fiber Arts is building a year-round home for fiber artists, makers, learners and the fiber-curious
throughout Bryan–College Station and the surrounding Brazos Valley.
Through classes, gatherings, festivals, exhibitions, artisan support and community partnerships, we are creating more opportunities to learn, make, teach, connect and carry fiber traditions forward.

Brazos Valley Fiber Arts grew from the foundation established by Brazos Valley Fiber Fest and a growing recognition that our region needs more than one annual gathering.
We need places to learn throughout the year. We need opportunities for working artists and teachers. We need welcoming tables where people can bring their first awkward stitches, their unfinished projects, their inherited skills or their lifetime of experience. We need ways to preserve traditional fiber practices while making room for contemporary fiber and textile art.
BVFA is becoming the umbrella beneath which all of that can grow.

Brazos Valley Fiber Arts is a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to supporting, preserving and expanding fiber arts throughout the Brazos Valley.
We are building a year-round fiber arts community through education, public programming, exhibitions, artisan support, cultural preservation, shared resources and collaborative partnerships.
Community Commitment
Brazos Valley Fiber Arts is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to fiber arts, education and community connection. At a time when commitments to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility are increasingly being questioned, BVFA remains firm in ours.
We are committed to creating a welcoming, respectful and accessible creative environment for people of different races, cultures, religions, ages, abilities, economic circumstances, gender identities, sexual orientations, backgrounds and levels of experience.
You do not need to believe the same things, vote the same way, possess advanced skills or already know someone in the room to participate. You are simply expected to treat others with dignity and respect.
Fiber arts have always carried stories across generations, cultures and communities. Our work is to honor those histories, make room for new voices and provide a creative sanctuary where people can learn and work alongside one another without harassment, discrimination or intimidation.

Brazos Valley Fiber Fest remains a foundational program of Brazos Valley Fiber Arts. The annual festival brings together fiber enthusiasts, artists, teachers, vendors and visitors for a celebration of traditional and contemporary fiber arts. As BVFA grows, the festival will continue to expand its educational opportunities, regional connections and support for the fiber community.

We are currently growing Brazos Valley Fiber Arts from an annual festival into a sustainable, year-round community arts organization.
