Artist @ Work Event: From Hoof to Hook

🧶 ARTIST AT WORK: FROM ANIMAL TO SKEIN
Ever pick up a beautiful skein of yarn and wonder what had to happen before it ever reached your hands?
Join Brazos Valley Fiber Arts for our next Artist at Work, presented by Krysten Salome of Shear Joy Fiber and Mill, for a hands-on look at the journey fiber takes from animal to finished yarn.
Krysten will walk us through the process; raising the animals, shearing, preparing and milling the fiber, and finally transforming it into the skeins knitters, crocheters, weavers and fiber artists know and love.
Artist at Work takes place alongside our regular Tuesday Social Sit-n-Stitch, so bring a project if you have one and settle in. But you absolutely do not need to be a fiber artist or bring a project to attend. In fact, we especially encourage the fiber curious to come, ask questions, touch the fiber, see the process and learn a little more about what happens long before yarn reaches a shop shelf.
There is no required admission fee. Instead, we are asking attendees who are able to make a donation to either Brazos Valley Fiber Arts or Southeast Llama Rescue. Donation jars and Venmo QR codes will be available during the evening.
Come stitch. Come learn. Come because you have always wondered how a fleece becomes yarn.
And please feel free to share this event with your knitting circles, crochet groups, weaving friends, fiber guilds, homesteading communities, animal lovers or anyone who might simply be curious about the process.
